FEES

In order to make your stay even more appreciable and cover all the time we invest in you so that you can have a pleasant stay, Lifting Hands charges you $100 for the entire package we are providing, in order to facilitate your stay and volunteering here in Costa Rica. The package includes:

  • Airport transportation: someone from the foundation will come to pick you up at the airport the day you arrive.

  • Lifting Hands’ T-shirt: you will receive it on your first week.

  • Shared house: even thought the volunteer will have to pay his/her rent, we can already get you a room in a nice shared house situated 1,8 km away from the foundation with all of the commodities included.

  • WIFI: you’ll have free access to the WIFI at the foundation.

However, volunteers must pay for their own meals, accommodation and transportation. They must cover all of their own living expenses but any recommendations or questions can be asked to the persons in charge.

Lifting Hand does not offer a room. It is recommended that volunteers find accommodations on their own, or they can benefit from our help since the house is really close to the foundation and the price is actually really good.

If so, the volunteer will be living for $300/ month in a nice house with a Costa Rican host named Sergio, 25 min walking from Lifting Hands or about â‚¡1500 (around $2.7) one way ride with Uber. The house is located in a nice and safe neighborhood of San José (Rohrmoser). You will have your own bedroom with a shared bathroom (for 2 people) and access to every shared room of the house (kitchen, sofas, etc). The wifi is included as well as a washing machine which is available.

Accomodation

Meals

Meals are not included in the volunteers program. In any case, the volunteers are free to buy and have their own meals, for approximately $12/day. They can also eat in restaurants for approximately $20/ day or they can also cook in their fully equipped kitchen at the house in case they stay at Sergio's.

It is recommended to go to the « feria »  every Saturday where you can buy fruits and vegetables at a lower price compared to supermarket prices.

If staying at Sergio's, volunteers can use the laundry they have in their house with no additional cost .
