About Lifting Hands

Lifting Hands is very happy and proud to present you a great project located in San José, the capital of Costa Rica.

Lifting Hands is a center for learning and motivation that impoverished community members can call home.

It is a place where volunteers share their time, expertise and experience with community members of all ages, developing strong bonds of friendship and becoming role models for them.

OUR MISSION

The project seeks to improve the quality of life of people in high social vulnerability, thanks to volunteerism and different integral programs that enhance the educational level, improve the emotional situation, stimulate creativity and provide access to job opportunities to their students though four approaches:

OUR STORY

We want you to meet Diana, the girl who founded Lifting Hands in 2013. In 2011 Diana, a 24-year-old environmentalist returned to Costa Rica from a trip as a volunteer in Africa. She came back concerned about the impact high social risk situations have on families and started exploring the topic to realize poverty rates had not changed in the last five years in Costa Rica. Driven by this finding, everything started.
